A Country Music Festival in the Caribbean

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - April 15, 2016

The US Virgin Island of St John is no stranger to the country music world, in large part due to its frequent references by music star Kenny Chesney.

But the island has cultivated a country music scene in its own right, thanks to the Love City Country Music Festival, which is holding its second-ever edition next month.

Artists including Pat Green, Radney Foster, Sunny Sweeney, Lily Meola and Angaleena Presley are among those who have signed on for this year’s event, which will take place May 12-14.

Of course, there’s more than music at this year’s event, which includes a major beach party at the Soggy Dollar Bar on nearby Jost Van Dyke on May 12.

The following day includes a “Wharfside Roundup” on Cruz Bay Beach, while Saturday’s proceedings include a full slate led by Pat Green on Cruz Bay.

Caneel Bay is the official resort of this year’s festival.
