A New Port of Entry in the Bahamas

By: - January 4th, 2016

There’s a new official port of entry in the Bahamas: the marina at Palm Cay in New Providence.

That means you can sail in to the marina and clear customs and immigration right at the marina.

The marina, which first opened in 2013, is the largest marina serving mid-size boats and sportfish on the island. It’s part of the wider $200 million Palm Cay development of single-family residences, townhomes and condominiums.

Sailors Mike Fish and Martha Garczynski’s Layla sailboat was the first vessel to clear customs and immigration at the marina.

“You can refuel, walk that beautiful beach, swim in the pool or ocean, enjoy the Friday night jazz, the Sunday beach barbecue. It’s like its own little world but you are at home on your boat,” Garczynski said.
