How This Caribbean Hotel Company Is Giving Back
A new initiative by Palace Resorts

Mexican government officials joined Palace Resorts executives in an inaugural ribbon cutting ceremony celebrating the upcoming opening of Casa Hogar, an orphanage for local Mexican children.
The house will provide shelter, a formal education, and healthcare for nearly 100 children beginning in January 2016.
The Palace Foundation began the construction of Casa Hogar in February 2015, after reaching an agreement with the state of Quintana Roo regarding the operation, recruitment and training of professionals and volunteers who will participate in the management of the facility.
“We are very proud of The Palace Foundation and believe the organization’s efforts are a testament to the company’s commitment to positively impact the communities our properties are located in throughout Mexico and the Caribbean,” said Gibran Chapur, Executive Vice President of Palace Resorts.
“It is our hope that Casa Hogar will provide children in need with the opportunity for a better tomorrow, and we would like to thank the hard work of our valued employees and respected partners who helped bring this project to life,” Chapur said.
The orphanage is comprised of eight villas, which will each house 12 children ranging from the ages of 11 months to 11 years.
The facility also contains an administrative building with offices and an auditorium, three classrooms, a counseling center, a medical office and a special needs area.
Additional spaces include a chapel, playroom, computer center, and kitchen.
Outdoor areas consist of a farm, garden, swimming pool, green areas, and a covered basketball court.
Casa Hogar is one of a number of initiatives that The Palace Foundation – through its Education, Social Welfare, Health, Environmental, and Dreams Committees – has spearheaded since its establishment in 2004.
