Dutch Caribbean air carrier InselAir has officially launched service between Aruba and the Brazilian city of Manaus.

The three-hour InselAir flight to the city arrived in Brazil carrying 80 passengers.

“By launching this route we offer passengers from all our destinations via Aruba, and later this year also via Curacao, the fastest and easiest connection to Brazil,” said Frederick Nuboer, CEO of InselAir Aruba. “No need to make a huge de-tour anymore, but straight-away into north Brazil.”

Manaus will act as a gateway for passengers to a number of destinations across Brazil, from Rio de Janeiro to Sao Paulo; the flight will of course also provide a gateway for Brazilian visitors to the Caribbean.

“Besides offering seamless connections to Bonaire, Curacao, Georgetown and Valencia, InselAir also offers passengers the option to travel to other InselAir destinations, such as Miami, St. Maarten, Surinam, Charlotte and Jamaica due to frequent flights between Aruba and Curacao,” Nuboer said.

The Aruba-Manaus flight will operate on Sunday and Wednesday.
