Despite the recent rapprochement between the United States and Cuba, travel to the island by most Americans is still limited.

That means trips are only legal when undertaken with licensed tour companies on people-to-people exchange programmes.

Now LATOUR, a member of the Isramworld brand portfolio, has launched a series of new licensed trips, headlined by a tour called “Hello Cuba.”

“What travelers don’t realize is that the government announcement is not directly impacting currently scheduled trips; you can’t just get on a plane to Havana tomorrow – people-to-people experiences are still the way to legally travel,” said Arthur Berman, executive vice president at LATOUR. “A destination as dynamic as Cuba deserves more than one visit. There are few places in the world that offer us a ‘before and after’ experience, and I am encouraging travelers to go now – and later.”

The Hello Cuba package, priced from $4,499, is a nine-day, eight-night tour that begins in Havana and includes stops in Cienfuegos and Trinidad.

The company is also offering two other tours geared for Jewish or LGBT travelers.
