Beach Collector: This Just Might Be the Perfect Bahamian Beach

The “welcome mat” of Grand Bahama Island, Gold Rock Beach spans for what seems like a quarter mile into the ocean at low tide, the recommended time to visit this beach.
The ebb and flow of the crystal-clear Bahamian water etches mesmerizing ripples in the sand that draw your attention to the expansiveness of what is almost certainly one of the most beautiful beaches, not just in the region, but in the world.
The beach, located in the Lucayan National Park, is named for the way a perfect sunset can illuminate a small offshore cay.
And Gold Rock was even the perfect backdrop for the “Pirates of the Caribbean” film crew.
All in all, this might be the perfect beach in a country that specializes in them.
