Haiti has its second new hotel in a week, as the Chylton Hotel has opened its doors in the border city of Ouanaminthe.

The grand opening of the Chylton last week included a concert by Haiti’s noted Grand Orchestre Septentrional band.

The small 52-room hotel is the latest to open in the country following the recent debut of the Monte Cristo Hotel and Suites at the end of last month.

That the hotel is located in the North-East department is somewhat of a departure from a recent trend that has seen the majority of hotels open in the area of Port-au-Prince and Petion-Ville.
