The St Lucia Tourist Board has named Atlyn Forde its new acting director of marketing for the United Kingdom and Europe, the board announced Monday.

Forde’s apointment takes effect July 7; she succeeds former marketing director Jean-Marc Flambert.

Forde has been working with the St Lucia Tourist Board for three years as assistant director of marketing, with 12 years of experience in the industry.

“I have every confidence that Atlyn will oversee these markets effectively and with a level of commitment that will support the Board’s overall growth objective,” said Director of Tourism Louis Lewis.

Forde previously worked for the Tourist Board for a separate two-year stint in 2005.

“I am delighted to be heading up the UK and European markets for the Saint Lucia Tourist Board,” she said. “I have true passion for Saint Lucia, have gained extensive experience and look forward to building on and maintaining the great successes we have already achieved.”

Flambert had served in the role for almost four years.

In a statement, he said he had “every confidence that Atlyn will drive the destination to new successes during this next phase.”
