The 23rd annual St Lucia Jazz and Arts Festival officially launches Wednesday, bringing together more than 65 musical performances.

The 12-day festival, which runs through May 11, will also include art showcases, smaller exhibitions and a couture fashion show.

The latter will take place on May 7 as the “HOT couture” fashion extravaganza.

Main stage events for the festival are set to begin on May 9 at the Pigeon Island Landmark, with performers including American singer-songwriter Maxwell, Motown band The Commodores, Jamaican star Tessanne Chin and Grammy-winner Dee Dee Bridgewater, among others.

The performances will be spread across seven festivals, including Jazz on the Bay, Fond d’Or Jazz, Jazz in the South, Jazz on the Square, Jazz on the Grill, Teatime Jazz and Soufriere Jazz.
