The owners of the Mount Nevis resort are planning a major expansion, according to Nevis Premier Vance Amory.

The family-owned property currently has a total of 32 rooms.

“I am assured by the owners of the Mount Nevis properties that they will have ground breaking for the $60 million development of additional villas to expand this very important property,” Amory said in his New Year Message.

The project will create employment for approximately 50 construction workers during the build-out, according to Amory.

The Mount Nevis expansion is one of several new tourism developments planned on the island, including a villa expansion by the Four Seasons Nevis.

The Paradise Beach property is also undergoing a renovation and expansion.
