Cayman Airways, the national carrier of the Cayman Islands, has opened a new ticket office and call centre on the island of Cayman Brac.

The office, which is located in the Captain Charles Kirkconnell International Airport, is employing two full-time agents at present but will be recruiting additional staff.

“I can’t think of a better way to end 2013 than celebrating the opening of this call centre which will not only bring new job opportunities to Cayman Brac, but will also offer residents and customers dedicated and specialized services for all their travel needs,” said Cayman Tourism Minister Moses Kirkconnell. “This is a significant achievement and on behalf of the Government I commend and thank Cayman Airways for their continuous support of the Sister Islands.”

The Cayman Brac centre will also eventually back up the carrier’s call centre based in Grand Cayman, according to Fabien Whorms, CEO of Cayman Airways.

“The opening of these new offices in the Brac is an important step in our long term commitment of working with the government to drive economic development in the Sister Islands,” he said. “Our Sister Islands activities are extremely important to Cayman Airways as Sister Islands’ traffic accounts for almost 20 percent of the total passengers moved by the airline.”
