Nevis Deputy Premier and Tourism Minister Mark Brantley has added the portfolio of telecommunications and information, the Nevis Island Administration announced.

The move was made official last week.

“I want to thank [Premier] Vance Amory for the confidence he has shown in me and I continue to pledge to do my very best to serve the people of this beautiful island of Nevis,” Brantley said. “This Administration is very aware of the power of the press and we have sought at every turn to engage the press and to make the press more available.”

The portfolio had previously been held by Nevis Premier Vance Amory.

“It is very important to us that we work hand in hand with the private sector to ensure that this new thrust into openness, greater transparency, and greater accessibility of the media that it trickles down and impacts all men women and children of our nation,” Brantley said said.
