Regional football body CONCACAF will be hosting a sports summit in the Cayman Islands next week.
The summit will be held under the theme of “Transformation through Partnership.”
The objective is to “enhance the partnership between governments and football federations in order to improve the growth and development of the sport in the region,” according to a statement from CONCACAF.
FIFA President Sepp Blatter will address the summit, which also aims to cover the themes of tourism and economic development. Former South African political prisoner Tokyo Sexwale will be the keynote speaker.
The Cayman Islands played host to CONCACAF’s first-ever Under-15 Championship in August.
Jamaican Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller will also be on hand, along with Major League Soccer Commissioner Don Garber, among others.
