A Rebranding at Caneel Bay

The former Caneel Bay, A Rosewood Resort has rebranded itself as an independent property.

The property will relaunch under the official name Caneel Bay Resort in St John in time for the new season beginning Nov. 1, it announced.

“Caneel Bay continues to be the leader of rustic, luxury-chic in the Caribbean,” said Nikolay Hotze, managing director at Caneel Bay Resort. “We have an incredible heritage started by the Rockefeller’s and it’s a legacy that we look forward to developing, while preserving the area’s tranquility. We look forward to this new chapter as an independent resort and welcoming our returning and first-time guests to the property.”

The relaunch will also feature the debut of a new restaurant, ZoZo’s Ristorante at the property’s former Sugar Mill restaurant.

The resort will additionally be opening a new coffee shop and Italian gelateria called Cannella.

Caneel Bay is planning to renovate all of its guestrooms beginning in 2014, with completion “in phases” over the next two to three years.
