Air Canada will be adding flights from Toronto to Grenada, according to the country’s government.
The announcement by Grenada’s government came following talks last week between Grenada and Air Canada officials.
It seems for now that the service will be operated by Air Canada’s new Air Canada Rouge carrier.
Air Canada Rouge, which launched earlier this summer, had listed Grenada as a potential seasonal destination for Rouge in the winter, at the time saying the destination was among several that “have to be approved by government regulators.”
In a release, Otway-Noel expressed her “pleasure and gratitude to Air Canada’s management team, and all the entities that have helped to facilitate this deal.”
The move will bring a “major boost to Grenada’s tourism sector,” she said.
Air Canada Vacations has traditionally operated seasonal charter service to Grenada through Air Canada Vacations.
