Antigua has begun its 2013 carnival, with the revelry starting on the streets of St John’s on Saturday.
With Mas bands, pageant contenders and steel bands, the twin-island country’s revelers began in earnest with a parade across the capital.
On Monday, Antigua will be holding its Queen of the Carnival competition, followed by the Source Teen Splash in “Carnival City.”
Wednesday’s LIAT Melting Pot will feature musicians including Beenie Man, Asa Bantan, Triple Kay and others.
The fete continues through the weekend and into the following week with Carnival Monday and Tuesday.
