Miami-Bimini Cruise Ship Receives Final Coast Guard Approval

MIAMI – The United States Coast Guard has given its final approval to the Resorts World Bimini SuperFast, which will begin service on Saturday.
The ship’s approval comes after nearly a month of testing by the Coast Guard. It will be stationed at Terminal F at the Port of Miami.
“We are pleased to work with the US Coast Guard to bring Bimini SuperFast to first class safety standards and appreciate their rigorous examination of the ship,” said Dana Leibovitz, President of Resorts World Bimini, in a statement. “After buying this modern German built cruise ship for $70 million, we spent a further $30 million to bring her to the highest safety standards.”
The ship will initially offer its “Day Explorer Cruises,” which leave at 10 AM and return at 7 PM, before launching its “Party Cruise” service in early August.
The latter will see ships departing Miami each day at 10 PM and returning at 6 AM.
The trip takes about two and a half hours each way.
Genting debuted its new Resorts World Bimini at the end of June, following its takeover of the former Bimini Bay Resort.
Genting is the majority owner of Norwegian Cruise Line.
