Travel agents in Japan have begun a major promotional campaign for tourism to Cuba.

The campaign was officially launched by Marcos Rodriguez, Cuba’s Ambassador in Tokyo, along with Jungo Kikuma, the president of the Travel Agents Association of Japan.

While travel from the United States remains possible only on certain licenses, Cuba has maintained its position as one of the leading tourism destinations in the Caribbean, receiving around 2.84 million visitors, according to official data.

Cuba’s goal is reportedly to reach the 3 million visitor mark, highlighting beach destinations like Veradero, Cayo Santamaria and Jardines del Rey.

Canada remains the country’s largest source market, with more than 1 million visitors to Cuba last year.
