Montserrat Premier Reuben Meade’s recent visit to the United Arab Emirates resulted in a letter of intent involving the planned hotel project at Little Bay.

The Montserrat Development Corporation, a delegation of which accompanied Meade on the trip, signed the letter of intent with Dubai-based Gulf Classic Limited, according to Meade.

“We’re hoping that we’ll be able to move from a letter of intent with MDC to an actual contract,” Meade said. “My understanding is the MDC board has approved the letter of intent and a response should have gone back to the company.”

There are a pair of elements in the letter that require cabinet approval, something Meade said he hoped would occur within the next two to three weeks.

The proposed resort at Little Bay would include 150 rooms, along with 20 luxury villas on Potato Hill.
