The Magdalena Grand Beach Resort in Tobago has named Howard Spittle its new general manager.

Spittle, a 20-year veteran of the Caribbean hotel industry, officially began the job on April 8.

“We are pleased to announce the addition of Howard Spittle to the Magdalena Grand family,” said Nikolas Eastwick-Field, principal at efm Hospitality, the resort’s operator.  “Howard brings an extensive resume of high-profile resort experience throughout the Caribbean and we are confident that he is the right person to lead the Magdalena Grand as we embark on this new chapter.”

Spittle, who was most recently a consultant for an eco-resort in Port Antonio Jamaica, also spent seven years as general manager of the Beaches Boscobel Resort and Golf Club, the Beaches Negril Resort and Spa and Beaches Sandy Jamaica, all in Jamaica, among other posts.

He succeeds Vince Angelo at the 178-room hotel, which opened last year.

“We are appreciative to former General Manager Vince Angelo for helping to launch the resort and make it the success it has been since it opened a year ago,” said John Murphy, principal at efm Hospitality. We wish him well in all of his future endeavors,” said John Murphy, principal, efm Hospitality
