Bermuda has sworn in the cabinet of the new One Bermuda Alliance government.

The new cabinet contains 10 men and 2 women.

The One Bermuda Alliance, led by new Premier Craig Cannonier, won 19 of 36 seats in Bermuda’s House of Assembly, with a total of 15,949 votes.

At the swearing-in, Cannonier said his government would use the election for two “big changes” to Bermuda: to grow jobs and to “bring people together.”

He also said his government would seek to extend the absentee ballot to Bermudian students abroad, “making this the last election they are denied a voice in the decisions of the country.”

“This is the day to start moving forward together for a Bermuda that achieves social and economic equality for all, leaving no one behind,” he said. “That’s the promise of this election. That’s the change we need.”
