St Lucia Speaker of the House Peter Foster Named Queen’s Counsel

Peter Foster, St Lucia’s Speaker of the House of Representatives, has been admitted to the Inner Bar of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court, making him a Queen’s Counsel.

Foster joins his father, Kenneth Foster, in the Inner Bar, along with Anthony McNamara, Hilford Deterville and Kenneth Monplaisir.

“My achievement, my joy and whatever feeling of success I enjoy today comes from assistance and support from so many who have touched my life,” Foster said before taking his oath. “And though not all could be here to share in the moment with me, to all of you, I thank you for your love and belief in me over the years.”

The ceremony was held last week at a special sitting of court. His conferment came the same day that Foster’s son, Luke Foster, was called to the bar.
