Haiti’s government and has unveiled a new logo for its tourism campaign, under the tagline “Experience It!”

The new design, which was launched  by Tourism Minister Stephanie Villedrouin last week, features a red hibiscus (Haiti’s national flower) in front of a yellow sun. It was featured at a ceremony headlined by President Michel Martelly and First Lady Sophia Martelly at the Karibe Convention Center in Haiti’s Petionville.

Haiti has been on a tourism push of late, buoyed by significant growth in hotel construction.

According to a report earlier this year, the country had five hotels and 763 hotel rooms in its development pipeline.

Of particular focus is the coastal community of Jacmel, the site of a propose boutique hotel and development project by Miami investor Michael Capponi.

In 2014, a Digicel-backed Marriott hotel is slated to open in Port-au-Prince.

For more information on Haiti tourism, see a report by Maura O’Connor from last year.
