Haiti’s Martelly Undergoes Successful Surgery on Right Shoulder in Miami

Haitian President Michel Martelly has undergone successful surgery on his right shoulder in Miami, his office announced Friday morning.

Martelly, who left Haiti on Wednesday, will stay in Miami for a few days to “continue the process of recovery,” according to the National Palace.

He has expressed a desire to return to the country to resume his work schedule.

The surgery was arthroscopic in nature.

He will be returning home next week for a visit with Mexican President Felipe Calderon.
