OAS Secretary General Holds Talks with United States Trade Official

OAS Secretary General Jose Miguel Insulza held talks Tuesday with Francisco Sanchez, the United States Undersecretary of Commerce for International Trade.

Sanchez was participating at the Private Sector Forum Dialogue “Connecting Companies, Connecting People in the Americas,” which took place at the OAS’ headquarters in Washington, DC.

The two officials discussed the current economic situation in the Western Hemisphere and agreed on the importance of “Latin America for the United States economy,” according to Insulza.

Also under discussion were the upcoming Sixth Summit of the Americas, to be held in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia.

Insulza was joined by OAS External Relations Secretary Ambassador Alfonso Quinonez, and Jorge Saggiante, Executive Secretary for the Integral Development of the Hemispheric Organization.
