Following his trip to the Bahamas, Prince Harry arrived in Jamaica Monday for the beginning of a four-day visit to the country as part of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations.

The trip’s early highlight was a race at the Usain Bolt Track at the University of the West Indies against gold-medal-winning sprinter Usain Bolt. Prince Harry ran a 20-metre race against Bolt; after a false start on the first try, Bolt eased up and allowed the Prince to win.

Prince Harry said he was happy to be in Jamaica, and said that, if possible,he would visit the Jamaica Village at the 2012 Olympic Games this summer in London.

The prince’s trip includes a visit to the University of the West Indies, the Bustamante Hospital for Children and the Victoria Jubilee Hospital, and the Rise Life NGO in central Kingston.

He will also visit areas on the country’s northern coast, including Falmouth and a “Jamaica Night” event at the Sandals Royal Caribbean Hotel.

Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller will host Prince Harry at Devon House, which was built by Jamaica’s first black billionaire, George Steibel.
