Eastern Caribbean Finance Ministers Hold Talks in Basseterre

The Eastern Caribbean’s Finance Ministers began talks in Basseterre today as part of the 72nd Meeting of the Eastern Caribbean Monetary Council.

The talks are being held under the chairmanship of Montserrat Premier Ruben Meade.

The meeting, which is taking place at the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank’s headquarters in Basseterre, will be highlighted by a report from Sir Dwight Venner, governor of the ECCB, on the monetary and credit conditions in the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union.

The meeting will look at price developments in the ECCU, financial stability issues and the group’s agenda for growth in the OECS.

Among those attending is Dominican Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit.
