Jamaica has approved the removal of visa requirements for Colombians visiting Jamaica during the winter tourist season for less than 30 days.

National Security Minister Dwight Nelson said the removal would help increase movement to Jamaica from South America, a market Tourism Minister Ed Bartlett told Caribbean Journal was a new focus.

A bilateral agreement between the two countries’ foreign ministries is still necessary, Nelson said.

Jamaicans traveling to Colombia do not need a visa, however.
