Taiwan Pledges Commitment to St Kitts

Taiwan has pledged what it called an “unshakable commitment” to joint projects it is overseeing in St Kitts and Nevis.

“I will leave no stone unturned in ensuring that Taiwan continues to pledge its unshakable commitment to all of our cooperation projects and programmes with the Federation of St Kitts and Nevis,” Ambassador Miguel Tsao said at a dinner celebrating 28th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two states. “We have worked together, hand in hand, arm in arm, and our two countries have accomplished a great deal.”

The country’s work in St Kitts and Nevis was part what Tsao called Taiwan’s “pragmatic and forward-looking approach in its dealings in the international arena.”

Taiwan is one of several Asian countries working in the Caribbean, including China, which has the largest dealings with the region, and South Korea, which is looking to enter the market as well.
