Grenadian telecom firm FLOW launched its Community Access Points project last week, an initiative aimed at improving broadband connectivity and Information and Communication-related Technologies to underserved communities in the country.

The project will invest $200,000 toward ICT in communities across the country, including the installation of a series of access points, full-service “Community Access Points” equipped with computers and internet.

Each access point will have up to five computers with internet access, along with office software, and printing, copying and faxing facilities.

“In today’s thrust for ICT-based education, it is increasingly important for all segments of our society to gain exposure to computers and broadband technologies,” said FLOW Country Manager Gail Purcell.

The plan will see 10 access points across the country.

“Technology and other related services should be available to every single Grenadian,” Prime Minister Tillman Thomas said.
