Spirit Adding New Flights to Kingston

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - January 11, 2019

Spirit is adding a new route to Jamaica’s capital as part of a wider expansion to the island.

The Florida-based low-cost carrier will launch new nonstop flights between Orlando and Kingston beginning March 1, it announced this week.

That service will operate three times each week, complementing existing service to Kingston out of Fort Lauderdale. (That service operates five days per week).

It’s the latest new addition to Spirit’s Jamaica network, including recently-launched flights between Detroit and Montego Bay.

At the end of next month, Spirit will launch new flights from Orlando to Montego Bay, with thrice-weekly service beginning Feb. 28.

Spirit also operates five-times-weekly service from both Baltimore-Washington and Fort Lauderdale to Montego Bay.

“Spirit continues to grow in Jamaica because the beautiful island continues to see an amazing demand for visitors looking to get away to experience the warm beaches, culture and hospitality,” said Matt Klein, Spirit Airlines’ Senior Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer. “The nonstop flights we are adding will only make it easier for our Guests to get away and experience all of what Jamaica has to offer.”
