The Best All-Inclusive in St Maarten is Back

St Maarten’s premier all-inclusive resort has made its triumphant return to Maho Beach.

The adults-only Sonesta Ocean Point Resort has completed a 15-month-long rebuilding process in the wake of Hurricane Irma, a significant step for the island’s tourism recovery.

The property has brought back its “Modern Caribbean” rooms and public spaces, while adding two new dining venues: the Casa Blue Tapas Restaurant and Bar and the Candlelit Island Grill, a dinner-only al fresco spot.

That will complement the existing ocean-view Azul Restaurant.

The all-inclusive has a total of 130 units, all of which are suites, along with amenities including four bars, a cliffside infinity pool and 24-hour room service.

The Sonesta is also adding some new experiences for guests, including a bi-weekly costal catamaran and a new Sunday brunch at Azul.

The resort’s signature swim-out rooms are back, too.

While the resort is otherwise completely open, its lobby is still in the process of finishing its own transformation, which will conclude on Jan. 20, according to a statement from the property.

The resort’s return comes as its adjacent sister resort, the Sonesta Maho Beach Resort Casino and Spa is still completing its renovation project, with plans to return Feb. 1, 2019.

When it opens, guests at the Ocean Point will have complete access to all of that resort’s amenities as well.
