Golf Legend Miguel Angel Jimenez Buys Cap Cana Condo
The new St. Regis Cap Cana luxury development in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic was created with golf lovers in mind and will soon be home to one of the best golfers in the world.
Miguel Angel Jimenez, world-famous pro golfer and 21-time winner of the European Tour, recently purchased a roughly $2 million unit at the St. Regis Cap Cana.
“It’s two bedrooms with a suite and balcony on the top floor and beautiful views of the ocean from north to south,” he said.
As a regular at Punta Espada Golf Club, Jimenez was captured by the St. Regis project as seen from the course.
“I’ve been coming to the DR since 2018 and lived in Casa De Campo,” said Angel Jimenez, “and then I began playing at Punta Espada [Golf Club in Cap Cana]. I saw there was something being developed, so I started looking at the St. Regis.”
In between his U.S. circuits, Jimenez spends as much time as he can in the Dominican Republic- making his purchase an easy one.
The pro golfer claims to love the par-72 course for its conditions – no two shots are ever the same and the views from each hole are unique with eight of its eighteen holes along the sea.
“Every course has their own traits, but this one has a very unique design, beautiful views, beautiful holes, very peaceful, very good golf course,” he said.
So, what’s the most challenging hole.
“When you’re good,” he said, “there are no challenging holes.”
Angel Jimenez has won 21 times on the European Tour, holds the record for most starts on the European Tour, and has been a member of two victorious Ryder Cup teams.
The St. Regis Cap Cana will be the first and only five-star branded real estate offering in Cap Cana and aims to be the most luxurious residential resort in the Dominican Republic.
The development includes 47 beachfront homes and 15 golf terrace residences, as well as six Astor residences and two breathtaking penthouses all ranging from $1 to $25 million.
Owners will have access to all the bespoke amenities and services of St. Regis including the owners-only private beach and pool.
Residences on the first floor come with their own private pool and outdoor living space, perfect for entertaining.
Access is also provided to the amenities of Cap Cana, including the Punta Espada Golf Course, rated as the #1 Best Golf Course in the Caribbean and Mexico by Golf Digest. These residences are set to be complete by early 2024.
