A walk here comes with interruptions. They’re part of the fun.

Beach bars, little hotels, restaurants, vendors, wooden boats and stretches of palm-lined sand appear one after another as you head along the beach. Music drifts out from one property. Someone is grilling jerk chicken farther ahead. Another bar is 100 yards down the sand.

The beach gives you plenty of distance, but few people walk the entire thing quickly. Negril keeps offering reasons to stop.

It’s one of the best choices on this list when you want a long walk with plenty happening along the way — and very good odds of finding a cold Red Stripe before you turn around.
