The beach is wide. The pools seem to go on forever. There’s a golf course next door, a casino downstairs and one of the Caribbean’s most impressive resort lobbies waiting when you arrive.

And right now, the St Kitts Marriott Resort may have the best points redemption of any major beach resort in the Caribbean.

We found a seven-night stay from Sept. 5-12 for a total of 240,000 Marriott Bonvoy points, based on what we found.

That works out to just over 34,000 points per night for a full week at one of the region’s most complete beachfront resorts — the lowest points rate we’re seeing right now for a true Caribbean beach resort.

A Full Caribbean Resort

The St Kitts Marriott Resort is set directly on Frigate Bay, with the Atlantic stretching out in front of the property and the green slopes of St Kitts rising behind it.

This is a large, energetic resort, with three pools, a broad sweep of beach and a collection of restaurants ranging from Italian dining to casual Caribbean fare.

You can spend the day by the main pool, find a quieter corner near the beach or head next door to the Royal St Kitts Golf Club, an 18-hole course that runs between the Atlantic and the Caribbean Sea.

There’s also a full-service spa, tennis, a fitness center and the Royal Beach Casino, giving the property far more to do than the typical Caribbean points hotel.

The Redemption

The Sept. 5-12 stay prices at 240,000 Marriott Bonvoy points for seven nights, depending on availability when you search.

At an average of roughly 34,286 points per night, it is an unusually strong redemption for a full-service resort directly on the beach.

Comparable Marriott resorts across the Caribbean can easily price at 50,000, 60,000 or even 80,000 points per night, particularly during the winter season. Finding an entire week for 240,000 points puts the St Kitts Marriott in a very different category.

It also gives you enough time to treat the property as more than a quick escape. You can spend several days at the resort, explore the island and still leave room for a day trip to Nevis.

Why September Works

September is one of the quietest periods in the Caribbean, which is precisely why points rates can become so attractive.

The beaches are less crowded, restaurant reservations are easier to find and resorts generally have a more relaxed atmosphere than they do during the peak winter months.

The tradeoff is that September falls within hurricane season, so travel insurance and flexible airline reservations are worth considering.

But if you are comfortable traveling during the period, 240,000 points for a full Caribbean beach week is difficult to beat.

Exploring St Kitts

The resort is close to the restaurants and bars of Frigate Bay, including the collection of beach bars along the island’s famous Strip.

Farther afield, you can explore the UNESCO-listed Brimstone Hill Fortress, ride the St Kitts Scenic Railway or spend a day driving the southeastern peninsula, where the road passes quiet beaches, salt ponds and views across the Narrows toward Nevis.

The ferry terminal in Basseterre also makes a Nevis day trip easy. The crossing takes you across the channel to Charlestown, with enough time for lunch, a beach afternoon and a walk through the island’s historic capital.

Award prices can change quickly, particularly when a low-priced period begins attracting reservations. The 240,000-point total is available based on the dates and inventory we found, but Marriott’s dynamic pricing means the rate may rise or disappear.
