Stade’s Rum Beach Club

A short drive up the western side of the island delivers something no other Caribbean destination can offer: a working rum distillery with a beach club attached.

Stade’s Rum Beach Club is on Brighton Beach just outside Bridgetown, on the grounds of the West Indies Rum Distillery, founded in 1893.

The distillery is owned today by Alexander Gabriel’s Maison Ferrand and produces both Stade’s Rum and Planteray Rum. A tasting costs $30 and includes a welcome cocktail, four rums and full use of the Brighton Beach Deck and its bar for the rest of the day.

You can tour the historic distillery, taste through the portfolio and then carry a rum cocktail to a deck overlooking one of the quieter stretches of sand near Bridgetown.
