Five Marriott All-Inclusive Resorts Are Reopening in Jamaica, From Negril to Montego Bay

The beach at Negril stretches west under wide Caribbean skies, with long swimming days, cliffside sunsets and the easygoing rhythm that has made the town one of Jamaica’s most enduring vacation destinations.

Across the island in Montego Bay, the experience is different: larger resorts, golf, nightlife, restaurants and a busy international gateway connecting Jamaica with cities across North America.

This summer, Royalton is bringing five of its Jamaica properties back into operation across both destinations, beginning with three resorts in Negril on Aug. 25 and followed by two Montego Bay resorts on Sept. 15.

The first group includes Royalton Negril, the adults-only Hideaway at Royalton Negril and the clothing-optional Grand Lido Negril.

The second phase will bring back Royalton Blue Waters Montego Bay and Hideaway at Royalton Blue Waters.

Most importantly? They’re all part of the Marriott umbrella.

Reservations are now open for stays beginning on each resort’s respective reopening date.

Three Resorts Returning in Negril

Royalton’s Negril complex brings together three distinct all-inclusive experiences in one destination.

Royalton Negril is the family-friendly centerpiece, with accommodations ranging from spacious suites to upgraded Diamond Club categories. The resort is designed around a broad all-inclusive program, with pools, restaurants, children’s programming and entertainment for multigenerational vacations.

Hideaway at Royalton Negril offers an adults-only experience within the wider resort environment, with exclusive areas and amenities aimed at couples and groups traveling without children.

The more intimate Grand Lido Negril is an adults-only, clothing-optional resort with a smaller collection of suites and a more private atmosphere.

All three properties are scheduled to reopen on Aug. 25, giving Royalton an immediate presence in one of Jamaica’s most popular leisure destinations before the fall and winter travel seasons.

Royalton said travelers can expect refreshed public areas, updated accommodations and new guest experiences across the Jamaica portfolio.

Preliminary room images released by the company show renovated interiors across several categories, including family suites, Diamond Club accommodations and higher-end suites and villas.

Why Negril Remains One of Jamaica’s Essential Destinations

Negril has long offered a different kind of Jamaica vacation.

The town is best known for Seven Mile Beach, a broad sweep of white sand lined with hotels, restaurants and beach bars. Farther west, the landscape changes into cliffs above the Caribbean, where small hotels and restaurants look out over the water.

The Royalton resorts are located in the greater Negril area, within reach of the destination’s beaches, sunset cruises and nearby attractions.

Visitors can spend the day snorkeling, paddleboarding or swimming, then head toward the cliffs for dinner or sunset drinks.

The reopening gives families, couples and adults-only travelers three different ways to experience Negril within one Royalton complex.

Two Montego Bay Resorts Return in September

Royalton’s Jamaica relaunch will continue on Sept. 15 with the reopening of Royalton Blue Waters Montego Bay and Hideaway at Royalton Blue Waters.

Royalton Blue Waters is geared toward families and groups, with large suites, pools, water-based activities and an all-inclusive dining program.

The adjacent Hideaway property adds an adults-only option, creating a two-resort setup similar to the company’s Negril model.

The resorts’ location in the greater Montego Bay area also places travelers within reach of Sangster International Airport, Jamaica’s busiest tourism gateway.

Montego Bay remains one of the island’s most practical destinations for a shorter vacation because visitors can reach many resorts soon after landing. The area also offers golf, historic estates, rafting, restaurants and trips along Jamaica’s northern coast.

A Renewed Dining Program

Royalton said the returning resorts will feature both Jamaican cuisine and international dining options across their restaurant collections.

The company has not yet released complete details on every restaurant reopening, but its Jamaica resorts have traditionally included a mix of buffet dining, specialty restaurants, casual poolside venues and bars.

The return of the five resorts will also restore a large collection of all-inclusive dining options across Negril and Montego Bay.

Jamaican food is expected to remain an important part of the experience, alongside the international menus that define Royalton’s wider resort model.

Visitors can expect familiar island staples such as jerk dishes, seafood, tropical fruit and rum-based drinks, along with Italian, Asian and steakhouse concepts depending on the property.

Family Trips, Adults-Only Stays and Private Retreats

The five-resort reopening is notable for the range of vacations Royalton will once again offer in Jamaica.

Families can choose the larger Royalton properties in either Negril or Montego Bay. Couples seeking an adults-only trip can stay at one of the Hideaway resorts. Grand Lido offers a more specialized, clothing-optional experience in Negril.

Diamond Club categories provide upgraded services and exclusive spaces, while Royalton’s suites and villas are intended for travelers seeking more room and added privacy.

The portfolio also gives groups the ability to stay within the same broader resort area while choosing different experiences.

A wedding party, for example, could place families at Royalton Negril while adults traveling without children stay at Hideaway or Grand Lido nearby.

Jamaica’s All-Inclusive Comeback Continues

The reopenings will return a significant number of rooms to Jamaica’s all-inclusive inventory across two of its most important resort destinations.

Negril and Montego Bay appeal to different kinds of visitors, but both remain central to Jamaica’s tourism industry.

Negril is closely associated with long beach stays, boutique hotels and sunset culture. Montego Bay offers a larger resort district, extensive air service and easy connections to attractions across northern Jamaica.

Royalton’s staggered return allows the company to reopen first in Negril, then add its Montego Bay properties three weeks later.

The schedule also places all five resorts back in operation before the busiest part of the winter season.

What Travelers Should Know

Reservations are already available for Royalton Negril, Hideaway at Royalton Negril and Grand Lido Negril for stays beginning Aug. 25.

Reservations are also open for Royalton Blue Waters Montego Bay and Hideaway at Royalton Blue Waters beginning Sept. 15.

Travelers considering the first weeks after reopening should review the specific restaurants, room categories and amenities scheduled to be available at each property.

The two-phase reopening will give Jamaica five more major all-inclusive options before winter, with distinct choices for families, couples and adults-only vacations in two of the island’s best-known destinations.

The Marriott Connection

All five returning properties are part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection All-Inclusive Resorts portfolio, giving Marriott Bonvoy members more options for earning and redeeming points on all-inclusive stays in Jamaica.

The Marriott affiliation gives the reopenings added significance beyond Royalton’s own Jamaica portfolio. Once all five resorts are operating again, Marriott Bonvoy will have a substantial all-inclusive presence across two of the island’s most important resort destinations, with choices spanning family vacations, adults-only stays and the more intimate Grand Lido experience.

Part of Jamaica’s Broader Resort Reopening

The Royalton return is part of a wider reopening across Jamaica’s resort sector, with several major properties preparing to welcome travelers again before the winter season.

Among the most anticipated are three reimagined Sandals resorts. Sandals South Coast is scheduled to reopen Nov. 18, followed by Sandals Montego Bay and the newly renamed Sandals Caribbean Cay on Dec. 18.

Sandals Caribbean Cay, the former Sandals Royal Caribbean, is returning with 84 additional rooms, bringing the resort to 291 accommodations, along with new concepts including Suppa, the Keynote Rum Bar and new SkyPool Suites.

Together with the five Royalton properties returning in Negril and Montego Bay, the reopenings will restore a substantial portion of Jamaica’s all-inclusive inventory and bring several of the island’s most closely watched resort transformations into the market before the height of winter travel.
