The island welcomed 29,426 stayover visitors during the first quarter of 2026, a 6.4 percent increase compared to the same period last year, according to newly released data from the Caribbean Tourism Organization.
While the increase may not match the double-digit gains posted by some Caribbean destinations, it continues a steady upward trajectory for an island that has spent the last several years rebuilding its tourism industry through new air service, hotel investment and a renewed focus on luxury travel.
Another Strong Quarter
The latest figures add to what has become one of the Caribbean’s quieter success stories.
Bermuda’s tourism renaissance has been unfolding over the last several years, fueled by expanding nonstop flights from key East Coast markets, a revitalized hotel sector and growing interest from travelers seeking an island experience that blends British heritage with pink beaches, championship golf and one of the region’s strongest culinary scenes.
The 6.4 percent gain in stayover arrivals suggests those efforts continue to resonate with visitors.
Stayover tourism remains the industry’s most important measure because overnight visitors generate the overwhelming majority of spending across hotels, restaurants, attractions and local businesses.
Why Bermuda Keeps Winning Visitors
Bermuda has long occupied its own place in Atlantic travel.
The destination offers an experience unlike anywhere else in the region, from the colorful streets of St. George’s, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, to the dramatic cliffs and coves along the South Shore. While visitor volumes remain smaller than many Caribbean destinations, Bermuda continues to distinguish itself by attracting travelers seeking a more refined island vacation centered on beaches, golf, sailing, history and dining.
