Casa de Campo Just Became the Caribbean’s New Fashion Capital With a Star-Studded Fashion Week in the Dominican Republic
There’s a new fashion capital in the Caribbean.
Casa de Campo Resort & Villas just wrapped its first-ever Casa de Campo Fashion Week, a four-day celebration that brought leading designers, creatives, buyers and luxury travelers to the legendary Dominican Republic resort.
The inaugural event, held in early June, transformed the sprawling La Romana destination into a runway of its own, blending fashion presentations, designer talks, wellness programming, art exhibitions and exclusive trunk shows across some of the resort’s most iconic venues.
The star power was real: former Miss Universe, actress and singer Dayanara Torres served as the event’s official brand ambassador, while famed Spanish designer Custo Barcelona headlined the grand finale runway presentation.
The lineup spotlighted a deep roster of celebrated Dominican design talent, including Giannina Azar, Jenny Polanco, Maylé Vásquez, Gaby Alvarez, José Cristian Lagares, Rafael Rivero and Anna Redman Pablo.
They were joined by a slate of international names: Luis Antonio, Fausto Altamirano of Baccio Couture, Berny Martin of LeCatou and Spain’s The 2nd Skin Co.
The week opened with a photography exhibition by acclaimed fashion photographer Jesús Cordero at Galería Chavón, set within the resort’s hilltop artists’ village of Altos de Chavón.
From there, the action moved across the resort, with designer talks and industry conversations at the Flamboyán Conference Center and a series of runway presentations at the Marina Riverside Center, where designers unveiled their latest collections before an audience of fashion insiders, media and VIP guests.
There was daily wellness programming, too, from yoga to fitness experiences, along with an exclusive Designers Trunk Show and Champagne Brunch where attendees could shop directly from the featured collections and meet the designers in an intimate setting.
Of course, this being Casa de Campo, the fashion was only part of the story. Guests spent the week immersed in the resort’s signature lifestyle: championship golf (including the famed Teeth of the Dog course), standout dining, the cobblestone charm of Altos de Chavón and one of the Caribbean’s great marinas.
The debut event is positioning Casa de Campo as a new platform for fashion and cultural exchange in the region — and adds yet another dimension to a resort that has long been one of the Caribbean’s most complete luxury destinations.
