It's one of the top luxury options in Cancun.

There’s still time to book a last-minute Caribbean getaway for Memorial Day weekend — and one of Cancun’s top luxury resorts has rates lower than you’d expect heading into the holiday.

The JW Marriott Cancun Resort and Spa currently has rooms starting at $247 per night for Memorial Day weekend stays, according what we found on Google Hotels.

That covers a Thursday-Monday trip from May 21-25.

That’s for a resort that remains one of the best luxury beach resorts in Cancun’s Hotel Zone, and one of its few EP properties.

The beachfront property has 447 rooms and suites overlooking the Caribbean Sea, along with multiple pools, a large spa and one of the stronger food lineups in the destination.

We particularly like Gustino Italian Grill, which has become one of the better steak-and-pasta dinner spots in Cancun’s resort corridor, along with the resort’s oceanfront infinity pool area facing the white sand beach. We’re also fond of the thatched-roof spa.

The location works especially well for a shorter holiday trip because you’re about 20 minutes from Cancun International Airport, meaning you can land and get to the beach quickly.

Summer has quietly become one of the best-value periods in Cancun, particularly at higher-end resorts where rates can drop sharply compared to winter pricing while the water stays exceptionally warm.

At the JW Marriott Cancun, rooms have a more residential feel than many Cancun resorts, with marble bathrooms, private balconies and oversized ocean-view layouts in many categories.

The beach is another reason travelers keep returning here. This stretch of Cancun tends to have brighter turquoise water and a wider beach than several nearby sections farther north in the Hotel Zone.

The current pricing makes the resort particularly attractive for travelers looking for a quick luxury escape without the peak-season room rates that often push well beyond $500 per night during winter travel periods.

If you’re considering a spontaneous Memorial Day trip, this is one of the stronger luxury values in the Caribbean Basin right now.
