Avianca is expanding service to Colombia’s Caribbean coast with a new daily flight between Miami and Barranquilla, adding more nonstop capacity to one of the country’s fastest-growing coastal destinations.

The airline has opened sales for the expanded route, which will increase from three weekly flights to daily service beginning June 1, 2026.

The new schedule includes one daily roundtrip flight between Miami International Airport and Barranquilla, the Caribbean coastal city known for its beaches, music scene and rapidly growing tourism sector.

The outbound Avianca flight will depart Barranquilla at 7:50 a.m., arriving in Miami at 11:45 a.m.

The return flight will leave Miami at 1:30 p.m., arriving in Barranquilla at 3:15 p.m.

The expansion is part of Avianca’s broader push to increase frequencies on routes between Latin America and the United States as demand continues growing across the region.

For travelers, the move creates significantly more flexibility for trips to Colombia’s Caribbean coast, particularly for passengers connecting onward from South Florida.

Barranquilla has increasingly emerged as a gateway to Colombia’s Caribbean region, with growing interest in the city’s culinary scene, cultural tourism and nearby beach destinations along the northern coast.

The city is also home to the internationally known Carnaval de Barranquilla, one of the largest cultural festivals in the Caribbean basin.

The increased service comes as Colombia continues seeing strong tourism growth, particularly along the Caribbean coast, where destinations like Cartagena, Santa Marta and Barranquilla have become increasingly popular with international travelers.

Avianca has been steadily expanding its network across the Americas during the last year, adding frequencies and new routes designed to strengthen connectivity between the United States, Colombia and other Latin American markets.

The daily Barranquilla service also adds another nonstop option for travelers heading to Colombia from Miami, one of the busiest gateways for Caribbean and Latin American travel.
