Avianca has opened a new premium lounge at El Dorado International Airport in Bogotá, expanding its high-end offering for frequent flyers and premium passengers.

The new Diamond International VIP lounge, located in the airport’s international terminal, is part of the airline’s broader push to enhance the travel experience from check-in through departure. Avianca says it expects to serve more than 150,000 Lifemiles members in the lounge in 2026.

A New Premium Space in Bogotá

The lounge spans approximately 7,535 square feet, adding to Avianca’s growing network of 12 lounges across more than seven destinations. The expansion comes as the airline continues to build out its premium infrastructure alongside a network that now includes more than 80 destinations in over 25 countries and 155 routes across the Americas and Europe.

Access to the new space is reserved for Lifemiles Diamond members and eligible premium cabin passengers.

Design and On-the-Ground Experience

The lounge has been recently remodeled with a design rooted in Colombian identity, incorporating visual elements tied to the country’s geography, including references to mountains, orchids, and traditional craftsmanship.

Inside, the space is organized around a mix of relaxation and productivity. Travelers will find lounge seating areas, dedicated workspaces, and a central bar with bartenders serving signature cocktails alongside a premium selection of spirits.

The layout is designed to support both short visits and longer dwell times, particularly for passengers on connecting itineraries through Bogotá, one of the region’s busiest hubs.

Part of a Broader Strategy

The opening is part of Avianca’s ongoing effort to strengthen its premium offering, particularly for its most frequent customers and loyalty program members. The airline has been investing in upgrades across multiple touchpoints, including airport services and lounge access.

The Diamond International VIP lounge follows the recent rollout of other premium-focused facilities at El Dorado, including the Diamond Domestic Lounge and the Insignia check-in area.

Avianca transported more than 37 million passengers in 2025, operating over 262,000 flights, with an average of around 700 daily departures. Between 2023 and 2025, the airline carried more than 27 million international travelers to Colombia, underscoring Bogotá’s role as a key gateway in the region.

With the addition of the new lounge, Avianca is continuing to build out its premium experience at one of Latin America’s most important aviation hubs.
