You’re looking at Cancun and seeing something you don’t usually see this time of year: lower fares. Not slight drops, but meaningful ones. The kind that can turn a maybe-trip into something you actually book.

And Cancun isn’t alone.

A new report shows that across the Caribbean, airfare is coming down in a consistent way, particularly for travelers flying out of Florida and the East Coast.

A New Report Finds a Strong Spring Booking Window

A new report from Dollar Flight Club is pointing to Spring 2026 as one of the best times in years to book international travel.

The company analyzed average roundtrip economy fares for March, April, and May 2026, comparing them to the same period in 2025. The result: prices are down across a number of destinations, with the Caribbean delivering some of the most reliable deals.

Despite ongoing concerns like TSA delays and rising fuel costs, airfare hasn’t caught up. That gap is creating a window where travelers are seeing better pricing than expected.

Cancun Leads the Price Drops

The most notable drop is Cancun.

Flights to Cancun are down 35 percent year over year, with average roundtrip fares now around $251, compared to $389 last spring.

That’s one of the biggest decreases in the report and stands out for a destination that typically maintains steady pricing deep into the season.

The Caribbean Is Delivering Consistent Value

While Cancun is the headline, the broader trend is across the Caribbean.

According to the report, the region is showing some of the most consistent, repeatable airfare deals right now, especially from East Coast and Florida hubs.

“This is one of the better booking windows we’ve seen since pre-pandemic pricing normalized,” said Dollar Flight Club Founder and CEO Jesse Neugarten. “Latin America and the Caribbean are where the value is right now, especially out of the East Coast and Florida. We’re seeing sub-$200 fares to places like Puerto Rico, Jamaica, and Aruba consistently, which is not typical for spring travel at this point in the booking cycle.”
