Avianca is expanding its recently restored service between Colombia and Venezuela with the addition of a second daily flight between Bogotá and Caracas, further strengthening connectivity between the two capitals.

The airline announced that ticket sales have opened for the new frequency, which will begin operating on March 28, 2026, linking Bogotá’s El Dorado International Airport and Caracas’s Simón Bolívar International Airport twice each day. The move follows the relaunch of the Bogotá–Caracas route earlier this month, restoring a key air corridor between the two countries after an extended pause.

The second daily operation will depart Bogotá at 11:20 PM on flight AV122 and arrive in Caracas at 2:25 AM. The return service, flight AV123, will depart Caracas at 4:00 AM and arrive in Bogotá at 5:00 AM. The new overnight schedule complements Avianca’s existing daytime service, which departs Bogotá at 7:40 AM and arrives in Caracas at 10:40 AM, with the return flight leaving Caracas at 12:10 PM and landing in Bogotá at 1:15 PM.

All flights on the route will be operated using Airbus A320 aircraft configured with approximately 180 seats. With the addition of the new frequency, Avianca will offer roughly 5,040 seats per week between Bogotá and Caracas, significantly increasing the available capacity between the two cities.

The expanded schedule also improves connections through Avianca’s Bogotá hub. Travelers departing Caracas will be able to connect to 37 international destinations via Bogotá, in addition to 24 domestic destinations across Colombia. The new frequency also opens access to 16 additional international destinations, including cities across the Caribbean as well as Argentina, Brazil, Peru, Ecuador, the United States, Mexico, Panama, El Salvador, Guatemala, Chile and Spain. The schedule has been designed to allow same-day connections through Bogotá for many of these routes.

According to Avianca, the decision to add a second daily flight reflects growing customer demand and improving operational and aviation safety conditions evaluated in coordination with the relevant authorities in both countries.

The expansion also supports the continued recovery of travel between Colombia and Venezuela, strengthening tourism, business travel and family connections between the two nations while restoring one of the region’s historically important aviation links.

It’s part of a broader potential tourism rebirth for Venezuela, where American Airlines has already signaled it will soon be relaunching service, too.
