Sandals Resorts has unveiled a major new meetings facility at Sandals Dunn’s River in Ocho Rios, Jamaica, adding an expansive conference center designed to accommodate large groups and events at the resort.

The new Louis Grant Conference Center delivers 8,000 square feet of dedicated meeting and event space, with capacity for up to 500 guests, positioning the resort as an even stronger option for conferences, incentive travel and group gatherings in Jamaica.

The facility is part of the broader revival of Sandals Dunn’s River, the flagship property that reopened in 2023 after a full reimagining on Jamaica’s north coast.

A Tribute to a Sandals Icon

The conference center honors Louis Grant, a longtime tourism leader whose career spanned more than six decades in the Caribbean hospitality industry.

Grant joined Sandals in 1991 and later served as general manager of Sandals Dunn’s River, where he spent more than 25 years with the company mentoring staff and shaping the resort’s operations.

His influence extended across the wider Jamaican tourism sector. In 2018, Grant received the Jamaica Hotel and Tourist Association Lifetime Achievement Award, and he was named Hotelier of the Year in 2007.

The naming of the conference center was announced by Sandals Resorts Executive Chairman Adam Stewart during a December 2025 “Back to Jamaica” event at Sandals Dunn’s River that brought nearly 400 travel advisors and industry partners to the resort.

“I am a huge believer in paying tribute to those who came before us, and we owe so much to Mr. Louis Grant, whose leadership helped define the very soul of this resort,” Stewart said. “He literally spent half of his career with us. I can still remember watching Louis in action when I was just a young boy visiting the resort with my father.”

Stewart added that Grant’s leadership style influenced many of the company’s current executives and team members.

Inside the Louis Grant Conference Center

The new facility blends modern design with Caribbean elements, featuring natural wood finishes, colors drawn from the greens and blues of the Caribbean Sea, and locally inspired artwork.

At the heart of the center is a 5,396-square-foot main venue that can host up to 500 guests reception-style. The space can also be divided into three separate ballrooms, allowing groups to host multiple meetings or breakout sessions simultaneously.

Additional meeting infrastructure includes two boardrooms and two pre-function areas designed for registration, networking events, or smaller gatherings.

The expanded meetings capacity is part of Sandals’ strategy to grow its group and incentive travel segment, particularly for travel advisors and corporate events.

A Full Resort Experience for Groups

The conference center sits within the broader offering at Sandals Dunn’s River, which stretches along a white-sand beach on Jamaica’s north coast.

Groups can access the resort’s full all-inclusive program, including 12 specialty restaurants, premium beverages, unlimited land and water sports, and complimentary green fees at the nearby Upton Estate Golf & Country Club.

Off-property activities are also available through Island Routes, with excursions that range from waterfall visits to cultural tours across Jamaica.

Easy Access From the United States

The resort is located just minutes from Ian Fleming International Airport, a growing gateway on Jamaica’s north coast that now offers service from Miami International Airport, making access straightforward for meetings and incentive groups traveling from the United States.

With the addition of the Louis Grant Conference Center, Sandals Dunn’s River is positioning itself as a key destination for large-scale events in Jamaica, while honoring one of the figures who helped shape the resort’s history.
