St. Kitts has officially welcomed Oceania Nautica to Port Zante, marking the luxury boutique vessel’s first-ever call to the destination.

The arrival of the 684-guest ship adds another high-end brand to St. Kitts’ cruise portfolio as the island continues to attract smaller, premium vessels during the 2025-2026 season. Oceania Nautica is part of Oceania Cruises’ fleet and is known for its neo-classical design, intimate onboard atmosphere and high guest-to-staff ratio, positioning the ship firmly in the luxury, destination-focused segment of the cruise market.

Tourism officials marked the inaugural call with a welcome ceremony at Port Zante, highlighting the importance of boutique cruise lines to the island’s tourism strategy.

“The inaugural call of the Oceania Nautica is a testament to the enduring allure of St. Kitts and our commitment to providing world-class experiences for every traveler,” said Kelly Fontenelle, Chief Executive Officer of the St. Kitts Tourism Authority, in a statement provided to Caribbean Journal. “Welcoming a vessel of this caliber allows us to showcase the authentic Kittitian Heartbeat to a discerning audience. These visitors don’t just see our island; they immerse themselves in our culture, supporting our local artisans, tour operators and entrepreneurs.”

Passengers aboard Oceania Nautica are typically drawn to immersive, premium shore experiences, a segment that generates strong on-island economic impact. During the call, visitors had access to some of St. Kitts’ signature attractions, including Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park, the UNESCO World Heritage site overlooking the island’s western coast, and the St. Kitts Scenic Railway, the last operating railway of its kind in the West Indies.

The call also provided direct benefits to local taxi operators, guides, restaurants and retailers in Basseterre, reinforcing the value of smaller luxury ships that emphasize curated excursions and extended time ashore.

As the 2025-2026 cruise season continues, the St. Kitts Tourism Authority said it remains focused on expanding and diversifying on-island offerings while strengthening the destination’s position within the luxury and boutique cruise market.
