Atlanta Just Got Two New Nonstop Mexico Beach Routes for Winter Travel
Atlanta’s international reach into Mexico expanded last month, with Frontier Airlines launching two new nonstop routes to Mexico’s Pacific Coast: Puerto Vallarta and San José del Cabo.
Both routes began service on Dec. 20, 2025, operating weekly and offering introductory one-way fares starting at $119. The additions give Atlanta-area travelers new low-cost access to two of Mexico’s most popular resort destinations during the peak winter travel season.
The new Atlanta–Puerto Vallarta service connects the Southeast directly with one of Mexico’s best-known beach cities, a destination that blends a historic old town with a long stretch of resorts and beaches along Banderas Bay. The route is aimed squarely at leisure travelers seeking warm-weather escapes without the need to connect through other hubs.
Frontier also launched weekly service from Atlanta to San José del Cabo on the same date, adding another nonstop option to the southern end of Mexico’s Baja California Peninsula. San José del Cabo has emerged as a favored alternative to nearby Cabo San Lucas, drawing travelers with its walkable historic center, growing culinary scene, and access to beaches and golf courses.
The two new routes are part of Frontier’s broader strategy of expanding sun-and-leisure flying from Atlanta, where demand for affordable international beach travel continues to grow. By adding Pacific Coast Mexico destinations to its Atlanta network, the airline is targeting travelers looking for value-driven options to established resort markets.
With weekly service now in place to both Puerto Vallarta and San José del Cabo, Frontier’s Atlanta expansion adds further competition to the Mexico leisure market, reinforcing the city’s role as a key gateway for winter travel beyond the Caribbean.
The new flights come as Puerto Vallarta is about to welcome its newly-rebranded all-inclusive Westin resort, as we reported last month.
