Marriott Just Opened Its Third Hotel in Fast-Growing Guyana

Guyana’s hotel landscape continues to evolve with the opening of AC Hotel Georgetown Guyana, a new airport-area property designed to serve the country’s growing mix of business, energy, and leisure travel.
The hotel is located in Ogle, just minutes from Eugene F. Correia International Airport, positioning it as one of the most convenient accommodations for travelers flying into Georgetown on regional routes. The opening adds a modern, internationally branded option near the airport at a time when Guyana continues to see rising demand tied to economic growth and increased airlift.
Speaking at the official opening ceremony, Mohamed Irfaan Ali described the project as a strong signal of investor confidence in Guyana’s economy, noting that developers moved quickly into a second phase of the project without waiting to assess initial returns. The hotel’s launch, he said, aligns with broader efforts to modernize infrastructure, expand tourism, and support long-term economic diversification.
The new AC Hotel features 152 rooms, built around the brand’s design-forward approach that emphasizes clean lines, open layouts, and functional details aimed at both short stays and extended business travel. Guest rooms are designed to balance comfort and productivity, reflecting the AC Hotels focus on streamlined, contemporary interiors.
Dining and social spaces are a central part of the property’s offering. The hotel includes 3 on-site restaurants and a bar, anchored by the AC Lounge, along with an outdoor pool and cabanas. A fitness center and meeting space further position the hotel for business travelers and small events, while complimentary on-site and long-term parking supports guests using Ogle Airport as a regional hub.
The opening comes amid continued growth in Guyana’s air traffic and connectivity. According to government figures shared at the ceremony, total passenger traffic across the country’s ports of entry surpassed 1.2 million travelers in 2025, alongside significant increases in aircraft movements and destinations served — trends that have fueled demand for new hotel capacity, particularly near key transportation gateways.
The opening also expands the footprint of Marriott International in Guyana and reflects growing interest from international hotel brands in the market.
It follows the openings of the original Marriott in Georgetown and the Courtyard Marriott at Guyana’s other airport, Cheddi Jagan, which came last year.
While much recent development has focused on central Georgetown, the Ogle location highlights rising demand for airport-adjacent hotels that can support domestic travel, regional connectivity, and business traffic flowing into the capital.
Ogle Airport has become an increasingly important gateway for Guyana, complementing international service at Cheddi Jagan International Airport and handling a growing share of domestic and regional flights. The addition of a full-service, globally recognized hotel brand nearby strengthens the area’s tourism infrastructure and adds capacity in a fast-developing corridor east of Georgetown.
The AC Hotel Georgetown Guyana is now open and accepting reservations. Rates start at about $284 per night for a double room with two queen beds.
