Air France is now flying even more frequencies to the Mexican Caribbean than ever before, Caribbean Journal has learned.

The carrier has ramped up its Paris-Cancun service from five times per week to seven times per week, another boost for a destination that continues to see growth in new airlift.

It’s a sign of the growing demand for Cancun among European travelers, and comes on the heels of Virgin Atlantic’s new nonstop flights between London and Cancun — a route that launched last month.

The new flights are also part of a broader regional ramp-up for Air France, including expanded flights to Costa Rica (with 10 flights per week) and a new nonstop route connecting Paris with Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic.

That route will kick off in a few weeks, with thrice-weekly service running from Jan. 13 to March 28.
