JetBlue Just Opened BlueHouse, Its First-Ever Airport Lounge, at JFK

JetBlue has officially opened BlueHouse, the airline’s first-ever airport lounge, marking a major step in its push toward more premium ground experiences. The new space debuted today at John F. Kennedy International Airport Terminal 5, timed to coincide with peak holiday travel.
The opening comes just days after JetBlue publicly detailed the concept, positioning BlueHouse as an extension of its broader JetForward strategy focused on higher-end, customer-first offerings both on the ground and in the air. For an airline long associated with value and comfort rather than traditional lounge culture, the debut represents a notable shift.
BlueHouse spans approximately 9,000 square feet across two levels, designed to evoke the feel of a New York apartment rather than a conventional airport club. The interior blends Art Deco elements with curated artwork and subtle references to JetBlue’s history, creating a space intended to feel distinctly local and unmistakably tied to the brand. Seating is varied, with open areas for socializing alongside quieter zones for travelers looking to work or unwind before departure.
Food and beverage programming leans heavily into New York partnerships. The menu was curated by Union Square Events, with coffee provided by Joe Coffee and beverage selections sourced from local partners including The Greats of Craft and Please Don’t Tell. The goal, according to the airline, is to reflect the city outside the terminal rather than replicate a generic lounge experience.
Functionality is central to the design. High-speed Wi-Fi, plentiful power outlets, a game room, and a mix of communal and private seating options are intended to accommodate a wide range of traveler needs, from business passengers logging on for last-minute work to families looking to relax before boarding. The lounge is designed to support both productivity and downtime without forcing travelers into a single type of experience.
Access to BlueHouse is complimentary for JetBlue’s most loyal customers, including Mosaic 4 members, JetBlue Premier Cardmembers, and travelers flying in the airline’s transatlantic Mint cabins. Operating hours begin today, with the lounge open daily from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. Eastern Time. JetBlue plans to introduce annual and single-visit passes for eligible customers beginning next year, expanding access beyond its top-tier base.
“BlueHouse helps make our flagship terminal feel more like home,” said Marty St. George, president of JetBlue, in a statement obtained by Caribbean Journal. He described the lounge as welcoming, comfortable, and reflective of the airline’s identity as it continues to expand its premium offerings.
The JFK opening is the first in what JetBlue has framed as a broader lounge strategy. The airline confirmed that its next BlueHouse location is planned for Boston Logan International Airport Terminal C, with an expected opening in 2026. The Boston expansion underscores JetBlue’s continued investment in its focus cities and signals that lounge access will play a larger role in its future customer experience.
With BlueHouse now open at JFK, JetBlue joins a growing list of U.S. carriers investing heavily in airport lounges as a differentiator, particularly for frequent and premium travelers. For JetBlue, the move represents a clear evolution, bringing a new layer of ground comfort to a brand that has historically focused its premium appeal in the air.
